Welcome Message

Sometimes life can feel hard, and many times, it can feel that we are carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders, unnoticed, and unheard.

Therapy can be a space for vulnerability, exploration, and growth, a space to share anything that’s on your mind knowing you will be supported, heard, and validated by a caring therapist.

My approach is both client centered and collaborative, acknowledging that we each hold a unique worldview. In therapy, we can explore how this unique lens affects how you view yourself, and others.

Navigating through tough decisions or experiencing unexpected changes in our lives may leave us unsure about ourselves and our values and a desire to reassess our values based on our current life stage. When we understand ourselves better, we are better equipped to address unhelpful thinking patterns and/or behaviours that may be negatively impacting our lives.
Whether you are struggling with depression or anxiety, life transitions, or perhaps you are struggling to find your place in an ever-changing uncertain world, therapy can help you find a way to move forward.

About Me

Hi I’m Elizabeth, a registered psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Upstream Counselling. You can call me Liza.

I have been fortunate to have spent the last 10 years working in international travel, both guiding and hosting others.

My appreciation of our shared human diversity and beauty stems from the different people and places I have seen in our world.
I work with an integrated approach that considers post modern styles such as narrative therapy and solution focused brief therapy. My belief is that individuals construct meaning in their lives from the dialogue they have with others and the language used in their cultures and societies.

Additionally, I invite clients to consider how the choices they use to develop meaning and purpose in their lives impact the manner in which they continue to live their lives.

My belief is that we have the capacity to change our thinking, behaviour, and actions in a way that leads us to a greater sense of holistic wellbeing.

If you are seeking greater understanding of your identity, values, and beliefs, and hoping to make deeper connections with others, please reach out today, and together we can find the right path for you.
