Hi! I’m Sarah Mahimwala, a dedicated and experienced psychotherapist with clients spanning across Canada and over six years in the mental health field.
I am looking forward to connecting with both aspiring and established therapists in a transformative journey of professional development.
I currently operate a practice that sees clients virtually and enjoy balancing that with my family in Toronto. I also enjoy travelling, reading (fiction of all kinds) and keeping my mind and body active.
I am a strong advocate for self-care and professional wellness, encouraging supervisees to prioritize their own mental health as you support your clients.
I believe that supervision is a collaborative process that not only enhances clinical skills but also deepens self-awareness and professional identity. My approach emphasizes a safe and supportive environment where supervisees can explore their challenges, reflect on their experiences, and cultivate their unique therapeutic style.
Throughout my career, I have worked in diverse settings, which allows me to bring a rich understanding of different client populations and therapeutic contexts to supervision. I’m committed to creating a culture of continuous learning and ethical practice, guiding supervisees to navigate the complexities of clinical work with confidence and compassion.
My educational background includes visual art as well as a master’s degree in divinity and clinical counselling. I’ve worked to refine my expertise in various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, family systems therapy, attachment-based EMDR and mindfulness-based practices.
I invite all aspiring independent therapists to join my monthly calls, where we can cultivate the skills, insights, and resilience needed to thrive in your therapeutic practice.
